Nico is a passionate and experienced sailor with over 11,000 nautical miles under his belt, including a transatlantic crossing as co-skipper. His sailing journey has taken him through Europe, the Caribbean, and the United States, often handling passages solo. Having earned his skipper license as early as possible, Nico brings confidence, precision, and calm leadership to every charter.
He holds both a Medical Certificate and the STCW Safety Training License, ensuring the highest standards of safety and preparedness on board. Guests can look forward to discovering the stunning waters of St. Maarten, St. Barth, and Anguilla with a skilled and attentive captain dedicated to creating unforgettable sailing experiences.
Eyleen Johannsen – Host & First Mate
Eyleen, originally from Hamburg, brings a warm and welcoming presence to Vitamin Sea. Though her love for the ocean began from the shore, she joined Nico on board for a long-distance passage in July and has since become an integral part of the crew.
She also holds a Medical Certificate and the STCW Safety Training License and is known for her thoughtful hospitality and attention to detail. Whether it's a peaceful morning at anchor or a sunset sail, Eyleen ensures every guest feels at home and well cared for throughout the journey.
Together, Nico and Eyleen create a relaxed, professional, and personalized atmosphere aboard Vitamin Sea, offering guests a truly special charter in one of the Caribbean’s most enchanting sailing destinations.
