I am writing to give you some feedback on our week charter on Kailani on May 11 to May 18.

Without trying to sound like I am exaggerating, there are not enough positive words in the world to describe how extraordinary our experience was. Our expectations were exceeded by a huge margin. It is difficult to find the words to express how outstanding this charter experience was.

The vessel being fairly new was obviously in great shape. Everything was in perfect working order. But it was also very apparent that the owner and crew were on top of upkeep, maintenance and cleaning of the boat. It was comfortable, clean, cool and had an ergonomically great layout.

However, what really made this charter stand out was no doubt the crew. Stephen and Caitie went way beyond 100% effort to make sure we were safe, comfortable, relaxed and taken care of. Their individual professionalism, personalities and approach were awesome. But when they worked together as a team, it just amplified all the positives even more. They made sure that for that week aboard Kailani, we were the most important people in the world and they showered us with the VIP treatment no question about it.

We requested a low carb/sea to table dining experience and boy did Caitie deliver. Her creations in the galley were right on target. Beautifully presented, tasty, healthy and light. It was obvious that she put much thought into meeting our requests and made every meal something to look forward to. Steve’s cocktail mixologist experience also came in very handy as he presented us with various delicious cocktail combinations to enhance the mood and make our taste buds dance. There was not one drink or meal all week that was not delicious and satisfying.

Steve’s and Caitie’s desire to show us the first class BVI cruising experience was obvious. We basically asked them to determine our itinerary and stops to give us a nice balance of activities and they anticipated and executed that desire so effortlessly and beautifully. We were celebrating my wife’s birthday on this trip and they made that special as well. My wife is all about getting in there and experiencing all she can so I asked Steve and Caitie to give my wife the full experience as much as possible. It was great to see my wife so involved and excited about this first time sailing charter for her. Steve and Caitie were right there to make sure it all happened. My wife snorkeled, fished, filleted the fish, worked the sails, swam, drove the dingy, collected shells, etc. But it was also fantastic how involved the crew made all of us feel and extended the same opportunities to all the guests aboard equally. Additionally, Steve’s ability to teach, instruct and encourage us to try new things and experiences is definitely a strong point for him. He made it all easy, relaxed and fun.

Because of Steve’s and Caitie’s love for what they do, we also learned a lot. We learned about the islands, the ocean, the wildlife, the vegetation, the environment, the history and about the people. They had so much interesting information about the area that it was educational as well. And finally, we learned something about ourselves too. Seeing Steve and Caitie and their positive approach to everything in this beautiful part of the world made us pause and think to not sweat the small stuff and enjoy life more everyday. Something Steve said repeatedly when we were experiencing something new to us was ” do it with confidence”. That stuck with us and now is our favorite thing to say to each other. So I will wrap it up and say “WITH CONFIDENCE”. Steve and Caitie are the best!!!!! Kailani is gorgeous!!!! And we can’t wait to do it again!

We just returned from a week aboard Luar in the Virgin Islands with my family, a total of 6 people. We were amazed by the level of service, accommodations, and food. Sam(antha) and John are an amazing crew. It was like a B&B on the water, with a constant commitment to service. The sights were great, and the food was unbelievable – every meal was a healthy option like what we eat in high end restaurants. It became a joke each night for us, as we watched Sam emerge from that little kitchen with things like roasted cornish game hens, scallop risotto, seared tuna, and other incredible choices! The boat is gorgeous and well equipped. We could not recommend it more highly.

We just returned from a week aboard the magnificent Mimzy! There were 6 women, sharing three queen staterooms, each with their own bathroom with stand up showers. The boat was beautiful and spacious, with comfy spots to relax, including fun bean bag chairs on the bow. We had all the toys we needed to play in the water as well! Our crew was fantastic and if I could give them 10 stars, I would. Captain Darrin was knowledgeable, professional, and fun! It was clear that safety was his first priority, and we all felt very safe on the water and on our land excursions. Handling 6 women was a bit like herding cats, and he managed it perfectly! First Mate Julia was a culinary dream! I’m not sure how she whipped up five course meals from a little galley, but she did! We ate like royalty. Crab cakes, salmon, eggs Benedict, and perfect Painkillers to name a few. She knew what each person drank and would hand deliver it to us on the bow.
As far as the post hurricane conditions, there is still obvious destruction, but it did not affect us one bit. The islands, water, and beaches are still some of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. Soggy Dollar and Foxy’s were amazing! The Bight at Norman Island was spectacular! The Baths were pristine and we were the only people at Devil’s Bay! The snorkeling at The Indians, Caves, Diamond Reef, and others, was world class.
Kevin with Mainsail was also superb. He was quick in answering all of our questions and very knowledgeable about the islands. He arranged taxis for us upon arrival and everything went smoothly! This was an amazing trip of a lifetime, and we already want to do it again! Thank you!

Kevin helped us book the Catatonic for honeymoon in May 2017. Although we are experienced boaters, we were inexperienced charter guests and Kevin’s knowledge of charters and of the British Virgin Islands helped put me right at ease with him. He walked us through the process and answered all the questions that we had regarding the charter experience and the BVI. The booking process was amazingly simple thanks to Kevin’s expertise.

Now, on to the Catatonic! We could not have asked for a better honeymoon. Robert and Jen took great care of us and did a great job adjusting the itinerary to fit how we were feeling and how much activity we wanted. Robert is a great captain and we felt safe and comfortable in his care. Jen’s food was more than we ever expected! I love to eat so the meals were definitely a highlight for me. We really enjoyed Robert and Jen’s company and by the end they felt like old friends. They were a great crew for us and they really showed us a good time on our first charter trip. The Catatonic is well cared for and in great shape. It was a great boat and we loved the nice master cabin. We look forward to coming back soon!

With Kevin’s assistance we just spent an amazing week on the Dianna Rose. He was helpful, organized and informative with all the details for our wonderful vacation. The husband and wife team Joseph and Britta on the Dianna Rose completely exceeded our expectations with their attention to every detailed. If you are looking for the vacation of a lifetime, book a charter on this amazing vessel. The food was five+ stars as well as the service. Joseph (captain and chef) and Britta (crew, service and amazing underwater guide-she is a mermaid) will delight you with their local knowledge and selections of destinations throughout the BVI. This team is professional, insightful and so much fun to spend time with. They received our groups perference sheets and made sure all our needs were met. The boat is well equipped, comfortable and spotless. We enjoyed this trip so much we plan on rebooking again for next year. Dianna Rose and crew get 5+stars from our group !! Thank you so much Joseph and Britta for a fabulous vacation.

We spent our honeymoon on Sandcastle for a week. The crew was phenomenal and Kevin at Main Sail set up the spots to hit, helped complete food and beverage choices and provided us with a trip of a lifetime from snorkeling, enjoying water sports, hiking on St. Peter, hitting Foxy’s and Soggy Dollar, watching the Tarpin feeding at Saba Rock…everything was amazing. Lloyd was an extremely knowledgeable captain who new the islands very well. Jess was an exceptional chef and her pairings and food was beyond words. We highly recommend!
