Born in 1981 in Vancouver, Canada, Captain Ante inherited his deep connection to the sea from his father, a native of Brač, Croatia. His father had a great passion for shipbuilding from early on and it led him to Canada to refine his skills before returning to Brač, where he established a business specializing in the construction and repair of wooden boats.
Growing up surrounded by the family’s shipbuilding legacy in Brač, Ante and his brothers worked alongside their parents, mastering the craft from an early age. After high school, he set his sights on a new goal—becoming a captain. At just 20 years old, he achieved his dream, taking command of the family’s growing fleet.
The family launched their first boat for short daily trips around Brač before building their second, larger vessel in 2004, designed for extended cruises. Recognizing the potential of multi-day voyages, they expanded their fleet, constructing several larger and more luxurious ships. In 2019, Ante took his passion to the next level by building and becoming the proud owner of YOLO, a state-of-the-art yacht, and has been at its helm ever since.
Fluent in German and English, Ante is known for his hands-on approach. Even outside the summer season, he dedicates time to YOLO, ensuring everything is up to date and learning how every little part of the ship works. However, his passion for the sea doesn’t keep him away from his loving family, with whom he enjoys spending time. When he’s not at sea, you’ll often find him indulging in his other passions—motorcycles and fishing.
With his deep-rooted maritime heritage, extensive experience, and unwavering dedication, Captain Ante continues to create unforgettable yachting experiences along the stunning Croatian coast.
