Top Destinations in the British Virgin Islands

  • Tortola – The largest island and hub of the BVI, home to some of the Caribbean’s most stunning beaches. From the powdery white sands of Cane Garden Bay to the secluded shores of Smuggler’s Cove, each beach offers its own vibe—perfect for swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling, or catching a spectacular sunset. The island has a rich cultural heritage influenced by African, European, and Caribbean traditions. You can explore historical sites like the Callwood Rum Distillery, one of the Caribbean’s oldest, or Fort Burt, a relic from the island’s colonial past. When you’re not sailing, you can explore Sage Mountain National Park, home to the highest peak in the Virgin Islands. The island’s terrain ranges from tropical rainforest to scenic coastlines, offering endless opportunities for eco-adventures.
  • Virgin Gorda – Home to The Baths, no trip to Virgin Gorda is complete without visiting this world-famous geological wonder. Massive granite boulders form sea pools, hidden grottoes, and natural tunnels right on the beach, creating one of the most iconic and photogenic locations in the Caribbean. It’s part beach, part cave exploration.
  • Jost Van Dyke – Famous for its beach bars, including the world-renowned painkillers at the Soggy Dollar Bar. Great Harbour is the island’s main hub, especially famous for Foxy’s Bar. Known for its New Year’s Eve blowouts and live music, Foxy’s is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience authentic island nightlife. But even on a regular day, it’s the place to eat, drink, and be merry. Jost Van Dyke isn’t just about beach bars. Hike to Bubbly Pool, a hidden gem, this natural rock pool where waves crash through a narrow opening and bubble up like a Caribbean jacuzzi is a must see.
  • Anegada – A flat coral island with unspoiled beaches, Loblolly Bay and Cow Wreck Beach are two of the island’s most stunning—and you might just have them all to yourself.  Visit The Lobster Trap, Big Bamboo, or Potter’s by the Sea and taste some of the best grilled lobster anywhere. There are no cruise ships, no crowds, and no hustle here. Just a few cozy hotels, beach cottages, and friendly locals.
  • Norman Island – Said to be the inspiration for Treasure Island, this secluded island is one of the top snorkeling spots in the entire BVI. The Caves are a must-see. Located just off the island’s western shoreline, these mysterious sea caves are filled with colorful coral, darting tropical fish, and shafts of sunlight that cut through the water in magical ways. It’s like swimming through a real-life storybook. Anchored just off Norman Island in The Bight, the Willy T (William Thornton) is a floating bar and restaurant that has become a legendary stop on your BVI yacht charter. Norman Island also has a beautiful beach to relax on along with Pirates Bight restaurant and bar.
