Arno + Petra + Yvonne: Wow. Where to start?? I feel like if we had had a camera crew with us this week filming a reality show we would all have our own Bobble heads. J
We began the week thinking what a cool laugh Petra had and enjoying the magnificent views to falling in love with all three of you and trying to re-arrange our schedule so we can come back in a few months. I cannot thank you enough for an amazing week of laughing, eating scrumptious food, drinking, falling off docks, blowing fuses, more drinking and more eating and did I mention laughing? What a fabulous time. Slim wanted me to say (before he fell fast asleep) that he thought Arno was who he was, Petra was who he wanted to be, and Yvonne was who he should be. Love you all. We cannot begin to describe the wonderful “show” you put on for us. Can’t remember the last time I laughed so much, drank so much, relaxed so much, ate so well, danced so much, did I mention DRANK so much?? Arno’s wonderful mariner’s skills, Petra’s infectious laugh and Yvonne’s perpetual smile created a fantastic atmosphere for a great week. Die spinnen, die Ami’s nicht? When we look back on this fantastic week on the Obsession, the fond memories will be numerous indeed. Arno made sure we were safe and all systems were GO. Petra made sure we were well fed with the most delicious gourmet fare. Yvonne made sure we always knew what was going on and that we were never without a beverage. You all made sure our week was full of adventure, fun, laughter and relaxation. We’re all so very grateful to each of you for all you did to make sure each of us feel so very special and cared for. The first word that comes to mind is “WOW”!!! I want to thank you all for playing such an important role in creating such beautiful memories that will be with us all for life! Petra- I wish I could bottle up your energy, your laugh of course and passion for life and bring it home with me. All of us are speechless really – We don’t have the words to truly describe what an amazing time we had. This week of Colors, Taste, Actions, Creatures, & Relaxation has been remarkable. While there are a few things that stand out – The baths, The Caves, The Bight – Our whole week has been one that won’t soon fade from memory. Living in Miami we likely get to spend a lot of time on the water that other family’s don’t get to, but this week on the water was something else entirely – We feel like true seafarers, and for that we will always be grateful. Thank you for showing us a spectacular landscape, waterscape from the comfort of the Rhapsody! Celebrating Marc’s 60th birthday in such high style will be a high point in all of our lives.
Melanie - a special thanks to your for your gracious ways and beautifully appointed sailboat - we couldn’t have dreamed of anything more lovely. Jack - your humor and with was a gift to us; not to mention your expert bartending skills (we all took notes). Kellen - we’re a hard group to please, being in the restaurant business – but you did that – and then some – surprising us with sushi one day, delicate snapper the next, barbecued chicken (on the grill, no less) and a light and delicious pasta when we all craved that the most! And we can’t forget the lobster eggs benedict – yum! To all: I hope our paths cross again in the future and we can show you our gratitude by hosting you during a visit to Portland, Oregon! Hard to say what I liked best…everything was so great! Overall it was the effort everyone put out to make sure our vacation was the best it could be. From the great food- all the time- to the fabulous “best drinks I ever had” , to Melanines course selection to make sure we had the best weather, wind and beach conditions – you were always working hard to make our vacation special for us. What an awesome vacation! After some initial apprehension, Chris and I quickly felt at ease and welcome by your generosity. My favorite part was the snorkeling and tubing. Well, maybe it was the the Painkiller that Jack made us the first day. Melanie-your boat is absolutely beautiful! You always maintained a professional demeanor while getting us to and from our destinations. Jack-of-All-Trades-from your mixed drinks, to your other services, you are such a kind and genuine man. I will certainly miss those Painkillers. Clay-you really made the trip with your delicious entrees. I loved being surprised with your creations. You definitely have a talent in the culinary arts. It was absolutely wonderful!! Everything I had dreamed, hoped, expected and then more. Eddie and Lorrin were great! Really enjoyed both of them. They were very accomodating, knowledgeable, courteous, kind, etc. Bella Vita is a beautiful boat. Eddie was constantly working and cleaning on it. He is quite the hard worker. He took us everywhere we wanted to go and when we didn’t know he gave us great options. We love to snorkel and he took us to all the great spots. Thank you for the map! We had Lorrin mark it with our route. If you have anyone in the future with doubts or anxiety ( like myself), I would be happy to talk to them! Thanks for all you did to “coax” me into a trip of a lifetime! It was truly un unforgettable trip! My husband and children really had a great time too!

Great people, Great trip!
Captain Peter and his first-mate/wife, Debbie, provided a welcoming ambiance of warmth, humor and romance. They were phenomenal.Our five-day excursion was an ever changing horizon of exquisite views complimented by the Captain’s tales of island lore and legends of infamous Caribbean pirates.
With ease we slipped into blissful tranquility. From the hammock on the bow of the ship, our mornings unfolded with gentle caresses from the trade winds and the water shimmering pink and gold from the sunrise. Yet, our senses were enlivened as we made a daily excursion to the finest resorts and the white sandy beaches wrapped in turquois waters.

One of the best trips we have taken! We had a fantastic time! Bernie and Ruth are gracious and excellent hosts. Every need was met or exceeded. As a former chef I was more than pleased with the food. The food was fresh, well planned and always perfect. The itinerary was great, private beaches and sunsets every night. Kevin at Mainsail did a great of providing everything we needed – his advice was spot on.

OMG- We have to leave. Reality sucks. What a wonderful week the Texans have had!!! Our experience with the WONDERFUL Petra, Zorro(aka: Arno) and COWBOY. This week has surpassed ALL vacations taken on the larger ships. I cannot say how great the food has been (Excellent) patience with guests (superb) and just over all time spent with everyone has been GREAT! Until next year, have a safe, wonderful and healthy time. Rhonda and Cam, A week of fun and sun, thank goodness the generators were run! Lots of music we played, while the boat rocked and swayed. Beautiful in every way! Wonderful venue, pristine conditions at each island – paradise every day! Yann and Karinne did a superb job of engaing our children in all activities. He was extremely patient with our children and a very pleasent host. Yann and Karine made a speical effort to find local lobster for our last dinner. The children rated this vacation a 10 our of 10! Kevin at Mainsail did an absolutely excellent job at matching us with the perfect yacht and crew. He covered all the basis and was timely in responding to our needs. We had a great time! Captain Richard was a great combination of a solid captain (instilling confidence) and a fun person to have on board. SarahJane can cook up some DELICIOUS meals, and Aaron was very attentive, and another wonderful and enjoyable person to interact with.
We had a blast. the trip was phenomenal. 7 days of smiling from ear to ear.

Hi Chris, Kelly, Petie and Zorro, Wanted to let you guys know we are home to a balmy 32 degrees this morning! BBBRRRR! We miss you guys and our daily Verna Breeze routine! Dave is already at the office 6am, and I”m on my way. No fresh fruit and casual conversation before a snorkel/dive filled morning. And, REALLY?? Where is all the beautiful cut up fruit and breakfast! Miss the furry ones and their love too!
Hope you getting things worked out for your charter starting today. You guys are awesome and it was just a wonderful trip! Thank you again for going out of your way to make us happy. I’ll forward some pictures when I get a chanced to get them together. I’m still swaying a little bit and wishing we were back on the boat. We did have a little mishap at the airport. Just as we boarded the plan the map blew out across the tarmac. So. if there is anyway to get another one we would love it. Also, if you can send the link for the micro towels that would be great. Rich, Sara Jane and Aaron greeted us all like we were family. I was a bit nervous having never sailed before but my mind was put at ease when meeting our new friends. The charter was really fun. Yann is a really nice guy and a really competent captain as well as a very good cook with a great personality. The boat was clean and comfortable as a boat can be. He had a nice hostess as well. No complaints, the weather was perfect, the water warm and we had no problems. Highly recommend the boat and Yann. Thanks so much
Johnson charter aboard Paradise — December 2010
Upon retuning from our trip on Paradise, we were useless! Once aboard Paradise, it was apparent that anything and everything we needed was taken care of and/or provided. At first, it was an adjustment to receive such pampering. Our beds were made during our 3-5 course breakfast with Bernie’s double filtered coffee and Ruthie’s fresh fruit, meat and egg creations with warm fresh bread. Then we would set off on our adventure for the day, usually at places to which we had never been – even after 4 previous BVI sailing trips. On shore, taxi’s, gear and dinghy shuttling was all arranged for us in advance with German-like efficiency and with folks that Bernie and Ruthie have long standing successful relationships with. Upon our return to Paradise, dinner was in motion and was always a great culinary expedition with wine, appetizers, curry sauces, fresh ingredients and fantastic deserts. Apres dinner was a comical event including great conversation on deck with the hosts over after-dinner drinks! Sleeping onboard Paradise I can guarantee is less rocky that all the other boats because of their skill in locating the best anchor, mooring spots throughout the islands. Bernie’s knowledge of the system and how to avoid unnecessary fees saved us hundreds as opposed to when we charter our own Bareboat. Their decades of knowledge and passion for what they do is very inspirational. Getting to know Ruthie and Bernie is truly a fresh breath of air. We really treasured our time and ability for pure relaxation with Bernie and Ruthie and would highly recommend a stay onboard Paradise: we’d love to join them again in the future! Dear Chris & Kelly, My mind can’t wrap itself around the past tense. I’ve gotten so used to living in the present. The boat rocking me to sleep. The economy sized Barracuda eyeing me, Lava Cake erupting, or the near future; the second Margarita, one more great snorkel, a hike to the wide view from atop Peter Island. It was a wonderful, amazing trip start to finish – My inner workings are reset! The two of you could not have been more wonderful host.

The yacht was beautiful. Everything about the vacation was awesome, the yacht, the islands, the snorkeling was all wonderful. Bridget and Barry were great! They have lots of knowledge of all the islands and were extremely accommodating – we all were very pleased. The food was excellent – presentation and taste, it went way beyond what we expected. Kevin at Mainsail did a great job of matching us with the the crew and yacht. There was nothing more that could have been done. I would highly recommend Mainsail and AdAstra to anyone. Please use me as a reference.
